The ego is born out of our need to survive. It is designed to keep us in fear so that we remain alert and aware of our surroundings and any imminent threats. This world has been structured around the ego as it has also come from our fears and our need to survive.

As we grow, our pure and innocent souls adapt to this ego based world and eventually become a part of it. We form personal and collective identities and belief systems that keep us locked in fear consciousness.

Daily spiritual practice helps us to manage the ego but as we grow energetically, we inevitably have to dissolve the ego because we end up generating more fear based energy than we can manage with daily practice. It reminds us that the soul has matured, and it is time to finally be free from the ego.

This can feel like death of your personality as you break free from all the identities and belief systems you have formed over the years.

Your soul then arises like a phoenix from the ashes of your ego giving you more personal power and strength. You develop a new personality, identity and ego based on the consciousness of your soul that enables you to survive in this world but also be free.
